Weekly Update
Week of January 6, 2025
Happy New Year: I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation and is ready to return to school tomorrow! Please remember students should have a take home folder, water bottle, and healthy morning snack.
Winter Gear: Please help your child enjoy the three outdoor recesses by having your child wear warm clothing each day. A winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens, snow pants, and boots make it possible to be comfortable and play in the snow.
Word Work: Our class will learn about the sound /kəl/ spelled cal and -cle this week as in the words musical, magical, physical, bicycle, obstacle, and uncle. Students can read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Students will also be identifying and reading words using the prefix im-. Some examples include impossible, impatient, and imperfect.
Library Books: Just a reminder library books are due on the day we visit the media center each week. Please help your child return books on time. Thank you
Skating Dates: Our Lincoln School Skating days are approaching quickly. Our class will be ice skating on Tuesday, January 14th from 12:45-1:25. We will leave the school at 12:30 and walk back to school at 1:40. If you are available to help fit skates and would like to join the fun, please make sure your volunteer paperwork is completed in the office. Thank you
