WORD WORK: Our class will continue learning to read and write words with common affixes such as en-, em-, ex-, and new words with the schwa sound, /ə/, spelled with a.  The following words are examples: enable, embrace, expression, around, amaze, comma, and panda.

March Is Reading Month: Reading Month is here! Students have begun reading fun books and voting on their favorite titles at school.  They are welcome to listen to some of the books at home if technology is available but will have time to listen at school as well. 


Dr. Holly Woodward Ballard Question and Answer Session: Dr. Holly Woodward Ballard Question and Answer Session: It was wonderful to meet paleontologist, Dr. Holly Woodward Ballard.  She shared how paleontologists learn the age of a fossil, what can be learned from dinosaur “poop”, and other interesting facts.  Please ask your children to share what they remember about this fascinating woman.


Sarett Nature Center Field Trip: It was a great experience learning about maple sugaring at Sarett Nature Center.  We learned more facts that tie into our plant module in reading. Thank you to those parents and grandparents who were able to join us on our trip.
